Hannah Wroe : Artist Residency January 2026

This week Trevellan Magic Space is hosting artist and researcher Hannah Wroe MA for a week-long residency. We awarded Hannah the autumn Supported Residency for her interesting and well-thought-out proposal on Quiet Resistance. Sadly various personal factors meant the residency had to be postponed from the original dates in November, so we are especially delighted that Hannah is able to be here this week.

The Supported Artist Residency offers an artist /small collective a bespoke residency programme including accommodation in either one of the Mongolian Yurts or Rose Chalet, with a combination of social meals, and food for DIY meals, advice and support for field trips, ongoing check-ins as appropriate before and throughout the stay, professional Clean coaching session(s), and an opportunity for an Open Studio talk, panel discussion, leading a workshop, or similar small public event with a specially-invited audience. Hannah will be sharing her research practice and artwork she has been creating this week in an informal studio talk over tea and cake, tomorrow afternoon, followed by a social supper to continue the conversations. This week, between gales, Northern Lights, torrential rain, and clear star-studded nights, Hannah did some deep-mapping and collecting of materials at Maenporth, made visits to Gweek and Falmouth, and came to experience a voice, breathwork and gong bath evening in the Woodland Yurt. We explored her research in a Clean Space coaching session. And introduced other research practitioners and educationalists over a house dinner.

It's a real pleasure to have Hannah here and to see how her enquiries and creations have progressed throughout the week, and how her original approach sheds an interesting and unique light on the riverside and coastal areas of the Helford Estuary and the SW Coast path here in Cornwall.
